Both LSS and City Springs are excited this community-wide favorite will soon take place in the heart of Sandy Springs

Sandy Springs, Ga. (July 23, 2018): Leadership Sandy Springs is thrilled to announce that   Movies By Moonlight (MBM), its free, outdoor, family-friendly movie series will open this August in a new location - on The Green at City Springs.

“We could not be more excited to invite our entire community to watch this year’s Movies by Moonlight right here - in the heart of Sandy Springs,“ said LSS Executive Director Jan Paul. “The new City Springs location is perfect - it gives us the opportunity to have a tremendous outdoor viewing area with green space, fountains, and wonderful areas for our pre-movie festivities. We know everyone, children and families especially, will love it.”

This is the 14th year LSS has hosted its signature community event which features a total of three, free, family-friendly movies shown outdoors on a large 30-foot inflatable screen.  Not only will the movies be shown in a new location but this year MBM will span three Fridays over three months - beginning on August 24th, with the Academy award winner Coco, followed on Friday, September 7th , with The Greatest Showman, and concluding on Friday, October 5th, with Star Wars The Last Jedi.

“This is without a doubt one of our strongest movie line-ups; our committee’s been planning for months to make this year’s MBM, often called the “best block party in town” the most fun and definitely the best ever,” Paul added.

City Springs is equally enthusiastic. “We are so excited to work with LSS on this - especially as Movies By Moonlight kicks off  with Coco during City Springs’ Grand Opening,” said Director of  Operations Jack Ligon, “with our new large outdoor festival space – it will be awesome.”

“We are also pleased to be able to offer our sponsors a unique opportunity to enjoy a dinner party on the outdoor terrace and watch the movie at the same time,” Paul added.

LSS, the civic organization known for developing leaders and connecting community to foster a vibrant Sandy Springs, began planning for Movies by Moonlight months ago.  There will be costumed characters, musical entertainment and fun pre-movie activities tied to each movie theme. “There will be some new surprises as well,” said LSS event chair Mike Bivone.

Parking will be available in the garage and in lots and spaces around City Springs located at 1 Galambos Way (corner of  Roswell Rd. and Mt Vernon), with additional parking at Sandy Springs United Methodist Activity Center. Pre-movie festivities will start at 6pm; the movies will begin at dusk.  For more information, please visit LSS’ website event page, ask a question on the MBM Facebook page or call 404.256.9091.
