Act3 Theater Company today announced its upcoming season of five shows as well as the appointment of Mary Sorrel as Executive Director.
Sorrel, who has been a long-time volunteer and serves as President of Act3’s Board of Directors, brings significant experience in PR, events and marketing communications. As part of her new role, she is pleased to announce the 2018-19 season that will open on September 7th with the recently revised musical, Godspell –  2012 Revised Version.
The season continues with a romantic comedy, a reinterpreted Christmas classic, a Tony Award-winning musical based on Peter Pan, and a charming musical about a father’s epic tales.
The Act3 2018-19 Season Calendar is:
  • September 7-23: Godspell – 2012 Revised Version
  • October 12-28: The Graduate
  • November 30-December 16:  A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol
  • February 8-24: Peter and the Starcatcher
  • April 12-28: Big Fish
“I am thrilled to serve as Act3’s Executive Director,” said Sorrel. “The shows we chose offer remarkable opportunities for both the professional actors who grace our stage as well as theatre-goers. And, as always, Act3’s season spans a wide range of genres, so there’s something for everyone. I'm looking forward to not only seeing these shows, but also sharing them with our patrons.”
Season ticket packages range from $60 to $115 and are available at www.act3productions.org. A Flex Pass Card, good for five general admission tickets for main stage shows, is also available.  The Flex option allows patrons to create personalized season packages.  Tickets for groups of 10 or more are available by calling the box office at 770-241-1905.  Single tickets range, which range from $15 to $30 for musicals and $15 to $23 for plays, are available via the website.

September 7-23: Godspell – 2012 Revised Version - The season opens after Labor Day with Godspell – 2012 Revised Version, the mega-hit musical from three-time Grammy and Academy Award-winner, Stephen Schwartz. Led by the international hit, "Day by Day," Godspell – 2012 Revised Version, features a roster of beloved songs that tell the parables of Jesus by using a wide variety of games, storytelling, and a hefty dose of comic timing.

October 12-28: The Graduate - Based on the classic film, The Graduate follows Benjamin Braddock's journey toward finding himself — with detours that include an affair with older family friend Mrs. Robinson and a budding romance with her daughter, Elaine. The adaptation of this classic novel and cult film first premiered in 2000.

November 30 – December 16:  A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol - It's Christmas Eve, 1943, and the Feddington Players are broadcasting their interpretation of Dickens's “A Christmas Carol” from a hole-in-the-wall studio in Newark. As mayhem ensues, the company is forced to improvise the ending as a film noir mystery, featuring a hardboiled detective, a femme fatale, and an absurd rescue of Tiny Tim (and the Lindbergh baby) from the clutches of a Hitler-esque villain named Rudolf.

February 8-24: Peter and the Starcatcher – Tony Award-winning Peter and the Starcatcher upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan becomes The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan). With a dozen actors portraying more than 100 unforgettable characters, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair... and the bonds of friendship, duty and love.
April 13-28: Big Fish - Based on the celebrated novel and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, Big Fish tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him. But his son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales. Overflowing with heart, humor and spectacular stagecraft, Big Fish is an experience that’s richer, funnier and bigger than life itself.

The intimate, 100-seat Act3 Playhouse is located in the heart of Sandy Springs in Sandy Springs Plaza, 6285-R Roswell Road (enter through the breezeway next to Five Guys).  Ample free parking is available and the area offers patrons many options for pre- or post-theater dining.
